Ongoing projects

I am interested in how bivalve shellfish habitats support the delivery of ecosystem services. In particular, I am working to identify routes of carbon deposition and release in these habitats and understand the balance between these two parameters.

This work is funded by the Dornoch Environmental Enhancement Project (DEEP), the Scottish blue carbon forumNatur.Scot and Marine Scotland Science. I am based between Heriot-Watt UniversityEdinburgh Napier University and St Abbs Marine Station.

In addition, this work has further benefited from further funding by MASTS and ECSA
